The Passion of the Christ.
A Moviem Review
BY
Rev. Carl H. Kemp, Pastor

Hollywood has come out with a movie that is unbelievable "The Passion of the Christ." I had the opportunity to voice my review of this movie before it even started playing in theaters. And now my fellow workers have come to me asking why such a bad review of the movie. First let me say that any movie that teaches the truth about God can't be all bad. My comment was that I didn't think it was a good movie for young children. After watching it on Saturday night the 28th I still say it is not a movie for young children. I believe that they can't understand what is going on, but I do believe that our teens should watch it and not only them but everyone (Families) that need to know more about Christ and what He did for us.
Different ones have picked different parts of the movie that they have a question on.
My main reason for watching the movie was to confirm what I already knew and wanted to see if it was portrayed in the movie that way It was. When Christ was sent out to receive His lashes for something that He did not do. That the beating that He took did not stop with just thirty-nine lashes, but they (Romans) kept on beating Him. Most people think that thirty- nine lashes was all He received, not so, you see only in the Jewish law was there a limit on the number of lashes that one would receive. But under the Roman law that Christ was convicted there was no limit and so He received more then thirty- nine lashes.
I do believe that it was a great movie and that our nation needs more of the truth that the Bible teaches. Maybe if we had more movies like this, our country would not be in the mess that we are in today. Maybe our teenagers would have respect for their parents again. Maybe we would know what kind of Love sent Christ to that cross and for what, for you and me. Maybe our CEO would have a different outlook on the people under them and that they would see that it is GREED that is destroying our nation. Maybe!!!! Take the time and go see it. It may change your life forever.
